Paint Correction

Paint correction is a process used to restore and enhance the appearance of a vehicle's paint by removing imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and water spots. Using specialized tools and abrasive compounds, paint correction carefully smooths out the clear coat layer, revealing a deeper, more reflective finish. This process is important because it improves the vehicle's overall aesthetics and helps preserve the paintwork by eliminating defects that can lead to long-term damage.

Stage 1 Paint Correction

Stage 1 Paint Correction is ideal for vehicles with paint in good condition that only have minor imperfections. This process focuses on enhancing the paintwork by using a single type of polish and pad combination. It is designed to refine the surface, smoothing out light marring and bringing back a shiny finish. Stage 1 correction does not typically address swirl marks or deeper scratches.

  • Polishing with a finishing polish and finishing pad

  • Light marring removal, minimal to no visible swirl marks

  • Best for new vehicles before applying ceramic

Stage 2 Paint Correction

Stage 2 Paint Correction is best for vehicles with moderate swirl marks and light scratches. This process involves two stages of polishing, beginning with a more abrasive cutting polish or compound to tackle imperfections. The second step involves using a finishing polish and pad to smooth out any remaining marring and refine the surface. This multi-step approach restores a smoother and shinier finish.

  • First step: Cutting polish/compound to address moderate imperfections

  • Second step: Finishing polish for refining and removing marring

  • Best for used vehicles before applying ceramic

Stage 3 Paint Correction

Stage 3 Paint Correction is suited for vehicles with severe paint defects such as deep swirl marks, heavy scratches, and other significant imperfections. This comprehensive process includes three stages of polishing and, if necessary, spot wet sanding to treat deeper scratches. The stages progress from heavy cutting to more refined polishing, ensuring a flawless finish.

  • First step: Heavy cutting compound and pad for deep imperfections

  • Second step: Cutting polish and pad to further refine the paintwork

  • Final step: Finishing polish and pad for a perfect, swirl-free finish

  • Best for show quality finish
